Amherstburg Staffing Costs Increase 11%

Amherstburg paid over $300,000 last year to former staff members who no longer worked for the town.

According to a report going to Amherstburg Council tonight, the town paid out just over $300,000 last year because of negotiated settlements with former staff members who were let go during major overhauls at the town offices. That equals over 3% of the total salary budget.

The report also details a long list of changes to positions and job qualifications at town hall.

While the number of positions hasn't changed significantly, wages have increased 7.8% over the last two years.
