Dog Rescued From Man Hole

A dog is expected to make a full recovery after police rescued it from the bottom of a manhole.

Officers arrived in the 4200-block of Malden Rd. at 10:30am Sunday after the dog fell into an open manhole on the south trail that runs parallel to the E.C. Row Exwy. The owner told police she was walking her dog when the dog fell in. She tripped on the manhole but was able to stop herself from falling.

The dog fell up to 15 ft. down and was standing in water up to its neck. By the time officers arrived, the dog had been trapped about ten minutes.

The officer climbed down to retrieve the dog, and the owner took it to a veterinarian as a precaution.
