Charges After Thefts In Garage

A 25-year-old man faces theft, mischief and possession of stolen property charges after a security guard alerted police to crime at a parking garage in downtown Windsor.

The security guard told officers he heard the sound of breaking glass on the third floor of the parking garage at 100 Park Ave. around 4:45am Tuesday. When officers walked to the side of the building, they spotted a man walking out the door, so they arrested him. A search of the suspect turned up stolen items, and a number of vehicles in the garage had smashed side windows.

Police have charged the suspect with theft under $5,000, four counts of mischief, possession of stolen property, break and enter, possessing break and enter tools and breach of probation.

Anyone with information should call the police at 519-255-6700 ext. 4350 or Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477 (TIPS). Information can also be submitted on Facebook and at www.catchcrooks.com.
