Housing Starts Up In January

The number of housing starts in Windsor-Essex is up for the third consecutive month.

The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation says ground broke on a total of 34 single-detached and multi-unit homes in January, an increase of 6% over January 2014.

Provincially, housing starts were up 3% last month, and 6% Canada-wide.

Construction in Windsor-Essex rose 6% in December, and 10% in November, following October's 34% drop in starts.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
