LaSalle Fire Sends One To Hospital

One person is currently unaccounted for and another has been taken to hospital following a house fire in LaSalle.

The LaSalle Fire Service says on Sunday just after 3:30pm, firefighters arrived at the home in the 600-block of Laurier Drive to find the house engulfed in flames. Around 30 firefighters attended the scene and were fighting the blaze for over two hours.

Fire officials say two people were in the house at the time of the fire and were able to escape the blaze. However, one of them is currently missing. The other occupant was taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.

Damage is estimate at around $200,000 and the cause of the blaze is unknown at this time. The Ontario Fire Marshall's Office has been called into investigate.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
