Body Found After LaSalle Fire

Fire officials in LaSalle say the body of a man has been found inside a home that went up in flames over the weekend. A woman was taken to hospital, but a second person was unaccounted for until now.

LaSalle Fire Service Deputy Fire Chief Ed Thiessen says crews arrived to 650 Laurier Dr. just after 3:30pm on Sunday.

"There was flames shooting out of the main floor windows, on all four sides of the house, coming out three or four feet from every window," says Thiessen. "It was a fully involved house fire."

The identity of the body has yet to be released.

Investigators from the office of the Ontario Fire Marshal continue to probe what sparked the blaze. Damage is pegged around $200,000.
