Update: Fundraising For Family Left Homeless

A GoFundMe account has been set up to help a Windsor woman and her two young children after they lost everything in a fire this week.

Erin O'Quinn describes Kayla Valencourt as family and says the 22-year-old remains in critical condition in hospital after flames erupted in her mobile home on Marlin Ct. early Tuesday morning. Firefighters rescued the woman and her children aged 2 and 3.

An investigation into the $10,000 fire faults electrical wiring.

"She's a single mother with two young children, and she's left with nothing," says O'Quinn. "Her son is only 2 years old and he's worried about his Elmo. He doesn't quite understand the fire."

O'Quinn hopes to raise enough money to get Valencourt and her children back on their feet. The fundraising page can be found by clicking here.
