Flood Shuts Down Manchester Pub

Windsor's Manchester Pub is looking at a few more weeks before it can re-open.

A watermain in the condominium building next door on Ouellette Ave. burst around 2pm Sunday, flooding the bar, along with the neighbouring Rockefeller Lounge.

Pub owner Tom Sotiriadis doesn't have a damage estimate just yet. "I came walking in and the only thing I could see, is on our far wall where all of our TVs are -- the brick wall behind the bar -- it was just coming as a full stream of water. Down the walls, over the TVs, in behind the bar, and then through the middle of the restaurant, in the back seating area. It was under an inch or two of water within 15 or 20 minutes."

Parker construction was on scene about 45 minutes after the watermain break, and immediately started working to stop the flooding and repair what's been damaged.  Enwin has also shut power off in the 500-block of Ouellette Ave. in order for work to proceed.

Sotriadis believes it'll take another two-to-four weeks before they're back in business.  He's got his fingers crossed that everything's back to normal by St. Patrick's Day.
