Police Seize Sawed Off Shotgun

A 47-year-old Windsor man faces three firearm-related charges after police seized a sawed-off shotgun.

Officers from the Windsor Police Drug and Gun Enforcement Unit, assisted by members of the Emergency Services Unit searched a home in the 700-block of Brant St. Wednesday. They found a Harrington and Richardson Model 400 sawed-off shotgun.

It wasn't loaded.

The suspect faces charges of possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of a firearm while prohibited and improper storage of a prohibited firearm.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
