Injuries In Cooking Accident

One person has been injured following a cooking accident in the 1000-block of Marentette Ave. in Windsor.

The Windsor Fire and Rescue Service says on Wednesday, an 18-year-old woman suffered minor first and second degree burns to her fingers during the cooking mishap involving oil.

She was taken to hospital to be treated for her injuries, and was later released.

Fire officials say there was smoke in the house when firefighters arrived, but there was no fire.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
