Charge Upgraded To Murder

A 21-year-old Windsor man now faces a charge of murder after the victim in a home invasion died of his injuries.

Windsor Police Constable Matt D'Asti isn't sure if the charge is first-degree or second-degree murder, but says Kevin Poblete was arrested on Friday. Previously, he was charged with attempted murder.

D'Asti says the 49-year-old victim was shot in the head on December 9 2013, when two men entered his home in the 800-block of Langlois Ave. One suspect had a gun and the other had a wooden club. They left without taking anything.

Police have not released the victim's name but ask anyone with information to call 519-255-6700 ext. 4830 or Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477 (TIPS). Information can also be submitted on Facebook and at www.catchcrooks.com.
