Tecumseh's Art Of Eating Cancelled

As it stands now, Tecumseh's award-winning Art of Eating Festival is cancelled.

The president of the Tecumseh Business Improvement Association says the incoming board of directors still hasn't been sworn in. Susan Tope says that process with the Town of Tecumseh is underway, and the new board should be in place next month.

However, the festival is in June, and that would only give the new board two months to organize the event. "Prior to this the festival was actually done in August, and a couple of years ago we moved it to June, so we have lost a few extra months," says Tope. "There's a lot of time and energy that goes into making these festivals as successful as they are."

Tope says the new board will review the decision.

For the last three years, the Art of Eating Festival has won a Festival-Events Ontario Award. Last year, the Town of Tecumseh won an award for the best town festival.
