Dryer Fire In Belle River

Fire officials in Lakeshore believe a fire at a home in the 600-block of St.Peter St. in Belle River caused at least $20,000 damage.

The fire Friday afternoon started in a dryer, but officials say the cause is still undetermined.

Fire damage is contained to one room although the rest of the house suffered smoke damage.

One person was home at the time, and nobody was hurt.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
