McGregor Post Office Losing Saturday Hours

Essex Council is looking for answers from Canada Post on a potential closure of the McGregor branch on Saturdays.

Councillor Randy Voakes isn't happy about the possibility of reduced service.

"They're trying to eliminate door-to-door; every place they can cut, they try cutting," says Voakes. "I see nothing coming to me that says their upper administration is going to take a cut based on this and this and this. It's always the little guy at the bottom that keeps getting whacked."

The post office in McGregor is currenlty open from 9am to noon and open 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday.

Council has sent a letter off to Canada Post requesting more information on the potential end to Saturday business hours.
