UPDATE: Attempted Murder Charge Laid In Stabbing

A Windsor man has been charged with attempted murder after a female victim was stabbed multiple times at an Ottawa St. apartment building.

The Windsor Police Service says on Friday around 11:30pm, officers attended the apartment in the 800-block of Ottawa St. in Windsor, and found a female laying by the entrance with minor injuries. A second female was found inside the building with serious stab wounds.

Both females were taken to hospital to be treated for their injuries. The stabbing victim remains in hospital in the ICU and is listed in serious condition.

Kenneth Sparks, 58, of Windsor was arrested at the scene without incident. He has been charged with attempted murder, assault with a weapon and possession of crack cocaine.

Police say all three individuals are known to each other and a knife was recovered at the scene.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
