Portable Sign Ban Could Expand

A ban on portable billboards in Kingsville could be extended to the commercial area of town.

Kingsville Council already passed a ban on the signs in residential areas a few years ago, which drastically limited the number allowed.

But, Mayor Nelson Santos says there is still an issue in commercial areas. "That's where we see a significant amount of abuse and proliferation of signs, especially in the east end of our municipality."

A staff report tonight will recommend preparing a new bylaw and scheduling public meetings into the proposed ban.
