Decision On Ward System Delayed

Amherstburg councillors want to get a year under their belts before they debate implementing ward representation in the town.

The notice of motion by Deputy Mayor Bart DiPasquale was deferred until next spring.

Mayor Aldo DiCarlo says he doesn't really have an opinion on the election system. "Honestly, I think it's up to the residents. Something like a ward system is 100% resident representation."

DiPasquale's original motion would have seen an investigation by administration, which he said could lead to a referendum on the voting system.
