NDP Choose In Windsor-Tecumseh

We'll find out tonight who will run under the New Democratic Party banner in the upcoming federal election in the riding of Windsor-Tecumseh.

The riding association is holding a nomination meeting at the Serbian Club in Windsor. Registration starts at 6pm, and the vote will take place afterwards.

There are four candidates seeking the nomination: military veteran Bruce Moncur, former Tecumseh Deputy Mayor Cheryl Hardcastle, activist Patrick Hannon and social activist Sandra Gonzalez.

Current MP Joe Comartin announced last June he was retiring after 14 years in federal politics. During that time, he's served as the NDP critic for the environment, public safety, democratic reform, justice and national defence. He has also served as the Official Opposition House Leader and Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons.
