High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

We'll find out tonight who will run under the New Democratic Party banner in the upcoming federal election in the riding of Windsor-Tecumseh.
The riding association is holding a nomination meeting at the Serbian Club in Windsor. Registration starts at 6pm, and the vote will take place afterwards.
There are four candidates seeking the nomination: military veteran Bruce Moncur, former Tecumseh Deputy Mayor Cheryl Hardcastle, activist Patrick Hannon and social activist Sandra Gonzalez.
Current MP Joe Comartin announced last June he was <a href="http://blackburnnews.com/windsor/windsor-news/2014/06/26/joe-comartin-stepping-aside/" target="_blank">retiring</a> after 14 years in federal politics. During that time, he's served as the NDP critic for the environment, public safety, democratic reform, justice and national defence. He has also served as the Official Opposition House Leader and Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons.
