Windsorite's Wonder Goal Makes ESPN (Video)

A wonder goal from Windsor's Anthony Santilli at the World Cup Arena Soccer Championships being held in Michigan has gone national.

The former Windsor Stars captain, playing for Canada at the tournament, scored a goal from his own net in a game against Russia on Wednesday that finished 6-6 and was featured on ESPN this week.

"I couldn't have asked for a better goal," says Dominic Scicluna, head coach for Team Canada. "It was a goal of his lifetime and one that every coach in the world would want for his player, especially the goalie. I am very proud of him and it makes me want to bring him here next year to play for Detroit Waza Flo in the [Major Arena Soccer League]."

Despite qualifying for quarterfinal play, Canada will not be able to advance for unforeseen issues. More information on the situation is expected from organizers.
