Alcohol Suspected In Two Crashes

Two men face charges after two separate crashes allegedly involving alcohol.

Ontario Provincial Police say they responded to a crash in the 1300-block of Old Tecumseh Rd. in Puce just before 9pm Saturday.

A black Ford was eastbound when it crossed the centre line and the westbound lanes, left the road, struck a culvert, then a hydro pole and came to rest on the front lawn of a home. Despite the severity of the accident, the driver suffered only minor injuries.

Officers say he appeared impaired, so a 37-year-old Lakeshore man is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and exceeding 80 mg of blood alcohol content.

On Sunday, police arrested a 30-year-old Kingsville man after a silver Pontiac left the scene of a crash involving a parked vehicle on Queen St. in Kingsville. Police found the vehicle, with extensive damage on the front end, a short distance from the collision.

The driver suffered minor injuries.
