The Windsor Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene at 3115 Virginia Park Ave in Windsor around 12:30pm Friday. No one was injured in the blaze.
As a result five people have been relocated following the fire.
Fire officials say the cause is undetermined but the fire is not believed to be suspicious. Damage is estimated at around $150,000.
SPS Board Chair Kelly Ash said the decision followed discussions with Acting Chief Mike Federico and aligns with practices at other police services.
The annual Canada Day parade will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, from Wildwood Park to Kenwick Park.
