Police say a home in the 2900-block of Skyline Dr. was broken into yesterday afternoon, and guns were stolen.
Later in the day, they received information that led them to a high risk vehicle stop at Ducharme St. and Helsinki Cres. around 8:30pm.
Two men were arrested and a hand gun, shotgun and ammunition were recovered.
They face drug, weapons, and break and enter charges.
SPS Board Chair Kelly Ash said the decision followed discussions with Acting Chief Mike Federico and aligns with practices at other police services.
The annual Canada Day parade will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, from Wildwood Park to Kenwick Park.
