Update: OPP Investigate Suspicious Fire

A suspicious fire in Colchester this past weekend caused $40,000 damage.

The OPP and investigators from the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal are looking into the fire on Draper St. Sunday morning.

Fire officials believe an accelerant was used to start the fire and witnesses reported seeing two men leaving the home with garbage bags just before the fire started around 2:45am.

Essex Fire Chief Rick Arnel says nobody was home at the time, and no one was hurt.
