Investigators weren't able to pinpoint the exact cause of the blaze, which started shortly after 6am in the 1600-block.
The blaze caused $175,000 damage.
No one was hurt.
SPS Board Chair Kelly Ash said the decision followed discussions with Acting Chief Mike Federico and aligns with practices at other police services.
The annual Canada Day parade will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, from Wildwood Park to Kenwick Park.
