UPDATE: Kidnapping Did Not Occur

Police have concluded that an abduction has not taken place, after a 7-year-old girl was reportedly taken from a Windsor park.

The Windsor Police Service says on the Sunday around 1:15pm, a group of young children were playing in a park in the 5400-block of Lassaline Ave., when the alleged incident took place. Police say the children reported a large white vehicle pulled up and a man grabbed the 7-year-old girl, brought her into the vehicle before driving off.

Police say officers treated the report very seriously, but following further investigation, it was determined that an abduction had not taken place.

Police are thanking the public for their concern and help while officers conducted their investigation.
