A brewery could soon join the dozen or so wineries on the wine route through southern Essex County.
Winemaker Karl Lonsbery first proposed his farm brewery plan to the Town of Essex over a year ago, and now he's looking to build.
A proposal to build a 25,000 sq. ft. building on a County Rd. 50 farm near Colchester will be in front of Essex Council tonight.
It includes area for making and storing beer, along with a reception area.
The Lonsbery Brewing Company would become the latest in an expanding local craft beer market.
