Essex Backing New Farm Brewery

Karl Lonsbery is getting the green light from Essex Town Council to move forward with a farm brewery in Colchester.

Council has approved a site-plan agreement for the project.

Essex Mayor Ron McDermott says the brewery is a welcome addition to the County Rd. 50 wine route.

"That'll just add to the wine tourism area down there, to have a brewery right in the same area. It'll be excellent," says McDermott. "The wine industry is just booming. We'll pass Niagara [Region] for sure. The Leamington, Kingsville, Colchester area and Amherstburg too."

The County of Essex is requiring a traffic impact assessment for County Rd. 50 and any necessary improvements will have to be made by the developer.
