Dilkens' Plan For WEEDC

Windsor's mayor is presenting a plan to make the Windsor-Essex Economic Development Corporation more accountable and transparent.

Drew Dilkens' eight-point plan includes WEEDC providing quarterly reports to two of its biggest funders: the City of Windsor and County of Essex.  "Members of council will be able to see what's going on at the organization, that it's not a mystery, that there is a lot of work going on there.  That way we have an interface, in a material way, with the organization, so that what's going on with WEEDC is not a surprise to them at budget time."

Dilkens is a member of WEEDC's board of directors and will be presenting his plan at their next meeting.

Some other points made by the mayor include holding more board meetings, updating the corporation's strategic plan which hasn't been done since 2011, and establishing a CEO performance review process.
