Lakeshore Doesn't Want Fluoride

Lakeshore council is worried the province is going to force them to put fluoride in the town water.

Mayor Tom Bain says the majority of the town has never had it in their water, and they don't want to add it now. "We're going to send a letter off to the provincial government that we felt we dealt with it here and that we feel it's a local issue. We want them to know we certainly don't want it in our water."

Bain says the chemical could also cause problems for the town's food processing plants.

Provincial officials have hinted regulations forcing municipalities to include fluoride in water could be coming.
