Sports Fields Assessment Underway

As the weather continues to warm up, Windsor residents are getting ready to hit the city's sports fields

Coordinator for Sports and Recreation Trese MacNeil says assessments are being done on the city's 150 fields right now.

"If the weather keeps going the way it is, without a lot of rain, we should be able to get on to start preparing the fields, and at least get the baseball fields ready for May 2," says MacNeil.

Soccer and cricket pitches are expected to open on May 16, as long as the weather remains fairly dry.

MacNeil is urging residents to refrain from using any of the facilities until those dates, in order to keep them in good condition while they might still be soggy.
