Kingsville Manufacturing Jobs Added

Unifor Local 444 is pleased to see manufacturing growth in Kingsville.

The union and Peterson Springs reached a new collective agreement last year, and now the company's adding a new production line.

Unifor Local 444 President Dino Chiodo says it's creating just 12 jobs, but it's an important step for the manufacturing sector in Kingsville.  "Especially when you're talking about not minimum wage jobs, or even $14 and $15 per hour jobs, but basically getting into $19 (per hour).  These are gainful jobs that people can start to prepare and really create a future for themselves."

Chiodo says Unifor helped Peterson Springs develop a new model for bidding on work during contract negotiations.
