WFCU Pool Gets Green Light

The City Of Windsor is going ahead with plans to build a $6.4-million pool at the WFCU Centre.

The facility will feature a splash pad, a therapy pool, as well as a six-lane swimming pool -- expected to be ready in time for the 2016 FINA World Swimming Championships.

Project Manager Don Sadler is happy the city's chosen DeAngelis Construction for the job, so that plans can now move forward.  "Now we can get into the process of ordering our long lead items.  One of them has to come from Italy, and others from all across North America."

Sadler says another $900,000 is being spent on administrative and additional capital costs associated with renovations to the south side of the WFCU Centre.
