UPDATE: One Person Injured In Fire

One person has been taken to hospital following an apartment fire in Windsor.

The Windsor Fire and Rescue Service says on Friday around 4:30pm, firefighters attended the blaze at 5000 Wyandotte St. E.

Fire officials say the blaze was a grease fire that started in the kitchen of a second floor apartment.

A female resident was transported to hospital with minor burns to her hands, forearms and forehead.

A fire investigator has attended the scene and damage is pegged at around $1,000.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
