Local Band Representing Canada

Windsor-Essex-based band Sieraslave is representing Canada in a competition hosted by Hard Rock Cafe.

Dane Roberts is one of the four members. "There's only one from Canada, and I guess that's us. There's 20 other bands now from across North America that we're up against."

Other members include Nathan McNevin, Shaun Miller and Siera Simoni. They formed just over a year ago.

"We have two songwriters: Nathan and I," says Roberts. "I'm more of a pop influence, where he's more rock. So, I think that's why our music is appealing to a wide audience."

Now, Sieraslave is waiting to hear if it has been chosen to represent North America at a festival in Barcelona, Spain later this summer.
