Accused Guilty In Hammer Attack

A man accused of assaulting a 13-year-old boy with a hammer in Windsor is found guilty of attempted murder.

Rafid Jihad was charged back in June of last year.

The victim suffered multiple skull fractures in the incident, had to be treated at a hospital in London, and was eventually released.

It's expected that the Crown will be asking for a psychiatric assessment on May 25, to find out if Jihad can be held criminally responsible.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
