Leamington Fire Deemed Suspicious

A fire earlier this week in Leamington is being called suspicious by investigators.

The OPP says evidence collected at the scene indicates the fire is suspicious in nature and the Ontario Fire Marshal is being called in to investigate the potential arson.

Crews responded to the fire at a home on Marlborough St. W at about 4:30am on Monday. Authorities say two separate buildings were damaged in the fire with costs totalling $325,000.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
