Council Considers Honouring Atkin

Leamington Council is being asked to consider renaming Robson Park after former councillor Rick Atkin.

As the Director of Community Services, Atkin was the manager responsible for the redesign of the waterfront area. That includes the park, marina and walkway.

Paul Anthony is the Director of Parks and Recreation in Tecumseh, but worked for 20 years alongside Atkin. "I had the opportunity of working with Rick on those projects. I certainly know his passion and those were very proud moments for him to be able to see those projects through."

Atkin passed away suddenly last month. His seat on council was filled by Bill Dunn. The motion goes to council at tonight's meeting.
