Jihad To Undergo Assessment

Doctors will now take a month-long look into the psyche of a man who nearly killed a 13-year-old Windsor boy with a hammer.

Rafid Jihad's already been found guilty of attempted murder, but could be found not criminally responsible after this assessment.

Defense Lawyer Frank Retar doesn't believe that would be good for his client, because Jihad has issues staying medicated. "He may very well stay in a psychiatric hospital or an institution until he is found not to be a danger any longer. If he doesn't take his medication, he may never get out."

A report from Jihad's doctor will come before Superior Court on June 30.
