University Passes Balanced Budget

The University of Windsor has approved a balanced operating budget of $254-million.

President Alan Wildeman says that didn't come without some challenges. "Every year our expenses rise faster than our revenues do. This year it's just over $3-million that expenses have exceeded our revenue growth," he says. "So we have to realign that. It's a 1% realignment , which is less than we've had in previous years."

Wildeman says this operating budget also accounts for 50 new faculty positions announced in March.

In the 2015/16 school year, staff costs make up 76% of the operating budget totalling $194-million.
