Flood Watch Issued For Essex Region

The Essex Region Conservation Authority has issued a flood watch for the area.

The conservation authority says over 50 mm of rainfall has fallen throughout Sunday, making conditions favourable for potential flooding. Low lying areas on all major waterways are more likely to be impacted.

All north shore waterways are expected to rise through the evening hours.

Residents are advised to use caution around standing water that has accumulated on roadways, as it may not be safe to drive through.

The flood watch will remain in effect until 9am on Monday.
