TD Bank is donating $850,000 to the University of Windsor to expand and enhance green space on Chatham St.
Wildeman says the downtown parkette, which will stretch from Chatham St. through the old Greyhound bus terminal to the armouries, will be just another reason for students to spend time downtown. "Part of the gift includes us being able to purchase an outdoor portable stage. So if someone wants to do a performance out here, if someone wants to play some music, put on a play, we'll actually have a stage we can set up out here."
A new sign has been unveiled in the small green space that currently exists on Chatham St., calling it the TD Chatham Street Parkette.
Wildeman expects the park to be completed over the next couple years, alongside the rest of the university's downtown campus project.
