Texas Road Plans Presented Tonight

The public will get one last chance to make comments on plans for the reconstruction of Texas Rd. before Amherstburg Council requests proposals from companies to construct it.

The final plan includes bike lanes, paths, green space and includes an option to fill in a deep ditch along the side of the road.

Mayor Aldo DiCarlo says council has already approved the design. "It will be a recap of the engineering drawings and exactly what we are going to RFP for."

DiCarlo says the hope is to have construction begin on the road by August. It's estimated to cost over $4-million.

Tonight's meeting begins at 6pm at Amherstburg town hall.
