UPDATE: Suspicious Package Downtown Windsor (GALLERY)

Chatham St. and Goyeau St., in downtown Windsor, are open to traffic once again as police have deemed a suspicious package to be safe.

Sgt. Matthew D'asti says on Wednesday around 2pm, a resident called Windsor police after finding a grey metal box sitting on the street corner, thinking it looked out of place.

Officers then took a look for themselves and determined it to be suspicious, set up a perimeter downtown, and brought in the Explosive Disposal Unit to investigate further.

Police gave the "all-clear" just around 4pm, after the EDU used an x-ray device to find the box empty.
