Update: HBPO And Unifor Reach Tentative Deal

After less than five hours on the picket line, workers at HBPO in Windsor have a tentative contract agreement.

The members of Unifor Local 444 walked off the job at 1:30am Thursday after the union failed to reach a tentative deal with the auto parts maker by the 11:59pm strike deadline.

The union announced on its Facebook page before 7am it had a tentative deal with HBPO, the third of four auto parts manufacturers in contract talks with Unifor Local 444.

The ratification vote is Saturday, June 20.  The meeting starts at 9am at the Unifor Hall on Turner Rd. in Windsor.

Contracts with TRW, Dakkota and Oakley were ratified earlier this month.
