Duplex Fire Causes $40K In Damage

Windsor fire officials are listing the cause of a duplex fire in the 1100-block of Westcott Rd. as undetermined.

The fire at 1174 Westcott started in the kitchen around 3:30am Wednesday. The residents escaped unharmed.

Meanwhile, fire officials say there was no loss after a fire at the Home Hardware in the 700-block of Tecumseh Rd. W. The fire in a pile of sawdust and woodchips started just before 1am Wednesday.

Just after midnight Wednesday, firefighters were called out to a fire at Premier Nail Salon at 430 Wyandotte St. W. That blaze is also undetermined and caused $40,000 damage.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
