UPDATE: Thousands Without Power In Essex County

Residents in Essex County are dealing with a second power outage this afternoon.

Essex Power is saying residents in LaSalle should have power this evening after a few outages earlier in the day. About 2,000 customers were affected in the day's first outage and the same goes for the second outage. The company reports the outage is affecting a number of locations including the Heritage Estates area as well as the Broderick Rd. and Bouffard Rd. areas.

Meanwhile, Hydro One reported outages for much of the county had been dealt with, reporting only about 800 customers were still affected down from nearly 6,000 customers. As of 6:10pm, Hydro One is reporting 1,082 of its customers across the county, including Essex, Cottam as well as parts of Kingsville and Lakeshore are without power. Lights should be back on for 7:15pm.

Earlier in the day, more than 16,000 customers had been without power.
