Toddler Nearly Drowns In LaSalle

LaSalle Police are urging parents to be vigilant when their children are near backyard pools.

The latest warning comes after a two-year-old nearly drowned during a gathering in the Normandy St. and Matchette Rd. area, Monday night.

The toddler was walking near the above-ground pool when he fell in. The parents immediately jumped in, pulled the child from the water, and began chest compressions.

The boy was rushed to hospital, then transferred to the Detroit Children's Hospital for treatment. He's expected to make a full recovery.
