Folk Festival Kicks Off Tonight

The fence is up around Lakeside Park and the 2nd annual Kingsville Folk Fest is set to kickoff.

Doors open at 5pm today for the first of three nights of the festival.

Organizer John Law says kids are welcome and anyone under 16 is free. He says one of the highlights is the musical petting zoo. "He brings over 100 instruments under a tent and kids get a chance to try these instruments they may have never seen before."

Proceeds from the festival go to the Music and Arts for Youth fund, which will hand out their first two scholarships on Saturday night.

Tickets for each night are available online, or at the gate. Last year 4,600 people attended the festival and the Laws expect to beat that.
