Charges Dropped Against Unifor Official

Assault charges against the financial secretary of Unifor Local 444 have been withdrawn.

Police charged David Cassidy after a fight broke out after a children's hockey game at the Essex Memorial Arena last March. The victim suffered minor injuries in the altercation.

The criminal charge was dropped in provincial court Tuesday. Instead, Cassidy is ordered to not associate with the victim for 12 months.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
