Housing Starts Fall In July

According to the latest numbers from the Canada Housing and Mortgage Corporation, housing starts are down 17% from July 2014.
The corporation's preliminary housing stats report says ground broke on 97 homes last month compared to 117 last July.  However, the year-to-date figures suggest housing starts so far this year is still up 5% compared to this time last year.
Across Ontario, housing starts in July were down 23% from July 2015, and nationally there was a 3% drop.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
